Janet Irene Taylor (Coe)

Janet I. Taylor (Coe), 70, passed away on November 6, 2015.  She went peacefully while sleeping at her home near Hudson, Colorado, due to complications from ALS.

Born in Portland, Oregon, on August 28, 1945, Jan spent a short time there and then in Kansas before moving to Golden, Colorado, where she lived most of her younger years. She graduated from Golden High School and continued her education at Central Business College in Denver. Jan made a career of accounting and bookkeeping, which she performed for numerous companies, ending with the Department of Tourism for Colorado. Additionally, she did extensive study of herbal remedies and became a recognized expert on the subject.

Jan and Gerry Coe were married on May 29, 1968 at her parents’, Marsh and Margaret Loyd, home in Golden. She spent the next few years living in New Jersey and Texas while he served in the US Army. After returning to Colorado, they lived in Arvada, where they were joined by daughter Meredith, for several years before moving to a small farm near Hudson. There, Jan found her place in the world. She truly loved the land and the animals she shared it with.

Janet is survived, and deeply missed, by her husband Gerald Coe, of Hudson; her daughter, Meredith Coe, of Thornton; her sister, Ann Siemer, of Pueblo; and two grandchildren, DJ and Cheyenne.
